The 14th APPU Business Forum held in Bangkok attracted representatives from over 25 APPU member countries plus industry stakeholders from across the Asia Pacific region.

Amidst engaging discussions on emerging technologies, new partnerships, and business opportunities we observed four key themes:

Collaboration & idea-sharing: There is strong appetite among postal operators for cross-border collaboration, with a growing focus on AI, data and digital partnerships as shared priorities.

New revenue streams: Clear need for posts to diversify beyond traditional mail revenue and explore new commercial models.

USO reform: Growing recognition that Universal Service Obligation frameworks need modernising to stay viable.

Cross-border e-commerce: Compliance with new regulations and transit times remain the top obstacles to growth in cross border e-commerce.
