Introducing Veronika Juzaninova, HR coordinator and event organiser extraordinaire at The Information Factory. Here's a peek into Veronika's journey from IBM's IT department to becoming the person who keeps the team connected and its calendars full.
"My first job was in the business transformation and IT department at IBM. It was administrative and data-focused work, managing internal catalogues, processing new hardware and software and ensuring everything was set up and ready for business.
Joining The Information Factory
After maternity leave, it was time to return to work but I knew I needed flexibility. Viktoria Feketeova spoke so warmly about the company that I was immediately curious. She described a friendly atmosphere, no corporate rigidity, remote working options and a genuinely supportive team.
I also saw it as a real learning opportunity: the PMO team has very experienced project managers and I wanted to grow alongside them. So I enrolled in a PRINCE2 foundation course to sharpen my knowledge. And here I am!
Work-Life Balance and What I Actually Do
My role lies primarily in HR support; I review timesheets, manage recruitment and connect with staffing agencies. From time to time I also support the sales team by researching new markets, customers and opportunities.
What I genuinely enjoy the most is organising events for our people. With a remote team spread across Europe, those moments of in-person connection really matter.
Proudest Moment: The High Tatras Get-Together
If I had to pick one highlight so far, it would be organising our team get-together in the High Tatras mountains. It required a full month of planning and coordination, but the result was very special. Seeing colleagues from all over Europe come together in that setting made every spreadsheet and logistics call worth it.
The idea came from the team itself; it grew out of a previous get-together and snowballed from there. Now I'm deep into planning our next adventure: a canoeing trip on the Vltava River in Czech Republic, complete with a cottage stay. Canoeing is a beloved Czech pastime, so I'm confident the team will take to the water with enthusiasm!
Outside of Work
Away from the office, family comes first. I have two daughters and we spend a lot of time cycling and hiking together. The High Tatras are a favourite of course and I'd also recommend the Juzna Morava area near Bratislava for family hikes. For something a little more grown-up, the wine country around Mikulov and Valtice is wonderful for cycling. It might even become the location for a future get-together!"
